Mung Bean

Mung bean is a warm season broadleaf annual.  It has an upright and spreading plant structure and is a legume used for nitrogen fixation.  It has a low to medium water use and poor salinity tolerance.  Crude protein ranges from 16-23%.  It is self-pollinated and forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations.  It can be planted as early as late April, or as late as after wheat harvest.  It likes well-drained soil and responds to good fertility; however, slightly acid soils do not reduce yields.
